Junior League of Albany
Board of Directors 2024-25

President: Austin Zaranko (president@juniorleaguealbany.org) Austin joined the Junior League of Albany in 2017 after relocating from NYC as a way to get involved her in local community. Austin has served on the Little Black Dress Committee for the last four years where she was committee Chair for two years. After graduating from the University at Buffalo with a BA in Psychology she moved to NYC and worked in Residential Real Estate and Luxury Retail. Now a stay at home Mom, Austin lives in Delmar with her husband and two young children and enjoys traveling and marathon running.

Treasurer:  Cathryn Crummey (treasurer@juniorleaguealbany.org) Cathryn joined the Junior League of Albany in 2018 after moving back to the area from getting her MBA in Springfield, Massachusetts. She joined the League to give back to the community and continue her family tradition of community service (both grandmothers were on the board, as well as her sister Carol).  Cathryn has served the League, while simultaneously going to law school, on Touch-a-Truck, Little Black Dress and now on the Board.  Currently, she works as an attorney at Greenberg Traurig. She focuses her practice on matters involving New York State legislative and regulatory issues, as well as lobbying, campaign finance, and governmental ethics. She is recently engaged and enjoys spending time with family and enjoying downtown Albany living.

Secretary: Kendall Joyce (secretary@juniorleaguealbany.org) Kendall joined the Junior League of Albany in 2015 and currently serves as Secretary. She has also held the positions of VP of Nominating and VP of Community on the Board. Kendall received her BS in Communications from the University of Miami and her JD from Brooklyn Law School. Currently, she is an attorney for New York State practicing labor and employment law. Kendall lives in Albany with her husband, Chris, their son, Jamie, and their dogs, Lilly and Maisie.

Vice President Communications: Carol Crummey McCardle (communications@juniorleaguealbany.org) Carol joined the League in 2013 with a desire to give back to her community, meet new motivated and inspiring women, and to continue in both her grandmothers’ legacy as past Board members in the Albany League, including a past President. Carol worked on the Communications Committee throughout her first few active years, then served as Secretary, President-Elect and then President on the Board of Directors.  Carol graduated from Boston College in 2008 with a double major in English and Communications. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2013 from Albany Law school. She is currently a Partner at O’Connor, O’Connor, Bresee and First, PC practicing in the area of civil litigation.  Carol is also the Mock Trial Attorney Coach for the Albany Academies. She lives in Bethlehem with her husband, Jonathan and their two children.

Vice President Community: Maeve McCullouch (community@juniorleaguealbany.org) Maeve joined the Junior League of Albany in 2020 after moving to Albany in 2018 thanks to an invitation from a coworker. She joined the League to get more involved in the community and meet like-minded women. Maeve received her MPH from The University at Albany School of Public Health and B.A. from Siena College. Currently, she works for the New York State Department of Health in the Center for Environmental Health Outreach and Education Group as a Health Education Media Specialist. She lives in Albany and enjoys hiking, dancing, and trying new restaurants in her free time.

Vice President Fund Development: Johanna Hackemack (funddevelopment@juniorleaguealbany.org) Howdy! Johanna hails from the great state of Texas and joined The Junior League of Albany the day after moving up here 7 years ago. She has been active with the Fund Development Council for the majority of that time and has also held roles as the Nominating VP and Member-At-Large. Johanna currently works as the Service and Outreach Coordinator at St. Pius X Church. She loves being outside (when it’s above freezing) and spending time with her husband, Michael, and two energetic boys.

Vice President Membership: Courtney Astemborski (membership@juniorleaguealbany.org) Courtney joined the Junior League of Albany in 2022 after moving back home to the Capital District from Boston where she had been a member of the Junior League of Boston since 2016. During her time in the Junior League of Boston she was an active member in a variety of leadership positions within Membership which led her to continue her interest as VP of Membership for the Junior League of Albany. Courtney is an active alumni volunteer for her college and high school alma maters – University of Rochester and the Academy of the Holy Names, respectively. She received a BS in Biomedical Engineering and an MS in Technical Entrepreneurship and Management from the University of Rochester and currently works as a Medical Device Quality Engineer at Regeneron. Courtney resides in Latham, NY with her sister and active Junior League of Albany member, Kendra Astemborski. She enjoys traveling, skiing, golfing, cheering on Army football, and spending time with family and friends.

Vice President Nominating:  Jennifer Dick (nominating@juniorleauealbany.org) Jennifer joined the Junior League of Albany in 2018 after serving previously in the Junior League of Syracuse (New York).  She has served with JLA as Secretary and also Training Chair.  Jennifer received her BS in Psychology from St. John Fisher College (now University) in Rochester, New York and received her MS in Counseling from Syracuse University.  Currently, she works on the Digital Distribution & Partnership Team at Aflac.  Jennifer lives just east of Albany with her husband, Mark and dog, Cooper.
