Board of Directors 2021-22
President: Meaghan Murphy (firstname.lastname@example.org) Meaghan Murphy is currently serving as the President for the Junior League of Albany for the 2020-2022 term. She has served on the Board for three years, first as Secretary and then as President-Elect. Prior to joining the Board of Directors, Meaghan served as the chair of new fundraisers, spearheading the creation of the Always A Bridesmaid event, and in the fund development council. Meaghan is also a Trustee of the Board of the Albany Institute of History and Art and a Director of the Board of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Albany Law School and currently practices estate planning, business succession planning and corporate law at Lavelle & Finn, LLP. She and her husband Nick live in Troy with their daughter.
President Elect: Michelle Mahon (email@example.com) Michelle joined the Junior League of Albany in 2015 and currently serves as President Elect. Previously, she held the roles of Secretary and VP of Fund Development. Prior to joining the Board, she served on the Done in a Day committee, the Centennial Gala Committee, and as Chair of Community Grants. Michelle received her BS in Finance and HR Management from Boston College and her MBA from The University at Albany. She has spent her entire professional career in non-profit development. Currently, she is Director of Development for The College of Arts and Sciences at The University at Albany. She is on the Board of Trustees at The Academy of the Holy Names and volunteers with Boston College. Michelle lives in Albany with her husband Dave and their dog.

Vice President Communications: Nadia Arginteanu (email@example.com) Nadia joined the Junior League of Albany in 2017 when looking for a way to give back to the community and meet other, like minded women in the Capital Region. Nadia served on the Touch-a-Truck committee and as a member of the Communications Council before joining the board as VP for Communications. She is a graduate of Bard College and Albany Law School. Nadia is Director of Legal Affairs for The Arc New York. She lives in Albany and in her free time enjoys tackling DIY projects around her home, cross stitch, cooking, and travel.
Vice President Community: Sherrie Strain (firstname.lastname@example.org) Sherrie joined the Junior League of Albany in 2017 and currently serves as the VP of Community. Previously, she served as the Chair for Community Impact. Sherrie received her B.S. in Human Biology and her Master’s in Public Health from the University at Albany and currently works as a health and safety specialist for Capital Region BOCES. She currently resides in Delmar with her daughter, Blake. In her free time, Sherrie likes to hike, kayak, travel, read and spend time with her daughter.
Vice President Finance: Austin Zaranko (email@example.com) Austin joined the Junior League of Albany in 2017 after relocating from NYC as a way to get involved her in local community. Austin has served on the Little Black Dress Committee for the last four years where she was committee Chair for two years. After graduating from the University at Buffalo with a BA in Psychology she moved to NYC and worked in Residential Real Estate and Luxury Retail. Now a stay at home Mom, Austin lives in Delmar with her husband and two young children and enjoys traveling and marathon running..
Vice President Fund Development: Kate Hebert (firstname.lastname@example.org) Kate joined the Junior League of Albany in 2017 and currently serves as the VP of Fund Development. Previously, she served as Chair of the Touch-A-Truck Fundraiser. Kate received her BA in English Literature from SUNY Geneseo and her MS in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design from The University at Albany. She currently works as a Sr. QA Training Specialist for Regeneron, Pharmaceuticals. Kate grew up in Albany, and currently lives in East Greenbush with her husband Geoff and their daughters.
Vice President Membership: Jamie Sansivero (email@example.com) Jamie joined the Junior League of Albany in 2018 and currently services as the Vice President of Membership. Previously, she was co-chair for New Member, and Member events. She earned her B.A. in Sociology/Criminology from SUNY New Paltz, and her M.A. in Counseling and Community Psychology from The Sage Colleges. Jamie currently works full-time as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for Community Care Physicians. In her free time, she spends her time running as well as with her husband and fur family ( a dog, and 3 cats) in their home in Troy.
Vice President Nominating: Kendall Joyce (firstname.lastname@example.org) Kendall joined the Junior League of Albany in 2015 and currently serves as the VP of Nominating. Previously, she served as a member of the Communications Council, a co-chair of the New Member Committee and a member of the Nominating Committee. Kendall received her BS in Communications from the University of Miami and her JD from Brooklyn Law School. Currently, she is an attorney for New York State practicing labor and employment law. Kendall lives in Albany with her husband, Chris, and their dogs, Lilly and Maisie.
Member at Large: Daphne Remarke (email@example.com) Daphne joined the league when she moved to Albany from Philadelphia back in 2017. She’s created lifelong friendships while becoming actively involved with the community of Albany. She lives in Bethlehem with her husband Ryan and daughter Harper. This year she looks forward to connecting in-person with her fellow Junior league members.
Sustainer Representative: Jennifer Carraher (firstname.lastname@example.org) Jennifer joined the League in 2007 and has been involved in many aspects before becoming a Sustainer. Some of her more memorable positions were serving as the American Girl Fashion Show Co-Chair, Provisional Co-Chair, Vice President of Placement, Rockwell Scholarship Chairperson, and assisting with the Fund Development Committee. A former member of the Southern Saratoga YMCA Board of Managers, Jennifer currently serves as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, and member of the Capital District Youth Chorale Board. Jennifer has earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Cultural Studies, as well as a Master of Science in Secondary Education. She holds NYS certifications in English Language Arts 7-12, and English to Speakers of Other Languages. She works for East Greenbush Central School District as an English as a New Language Teacher. She lives in Clifton Park, NY with her husband Bill, and future-Junior-League-of-Albany-member-daughter Cassandra.
