Rock for reading

Join the Junior League of Albany (JLA) as we present Rock for Reading, a fund-raising event featuring local bands The Stynals, The Foy Brothers and the Bent Rail Blues Band, as well as comedian/emcee Donnell Ellis.

When: Saturday, January 9, 2010 beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Red Square (388 Broadway, Albany)
Admission: $10 at the door; patrons must be at least 21 years of age to attend.

The Junior League of Albany, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.


The Junior League of Albany has adopted the welfare of children and their families as our focus areas. Our current initiatives address: Childhood literacy through the Junior League of Albany & Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (2008 – 2013), and disaster preparedness through the Red Cross Get Ready, Be Safe program.
